Having issues with our phones or phone

Before Reporting a Problem

No outgoing calls

See Below on phone display message and ensure you have power on all your equipment and you internet connection is up.

Phone number does not work

Record the calling parties phone number, the dialed phone number, the time and the condition you are getting.

Callers reach the call center immediately and our phones don’t ring

Single phone issue

Phone Display Message

No Service

Possible Cause : The phone is not registered with the PBX. Could be Internet related.

Possible Solutions : If the other phones are ok reset the power on the phone by unplugging the power source for 10 seconds. If all phones have this message check your Internet connection.

DND (Do not Disturb)

Possible Cause : The do not disturb feature has been activated.

Possible Solutions : Disable this option on the phone.

Blank Screen

Possible Cause : No power to the phone.

Possible Solutions : Check the power source to the phone, either a power adaptor or provided over the Ethernet connection. Make sure all cables and power cords are plugged in.

Network Disconnected

Possible Cause : Not properly connected to the network

Possible Solutions : Check that the cables are tightly connected to the phone and to the wall jack and switch or router. Ensure the Ethernet connection is in the Internet and not computer port. Reset the phone by unplugging the power.

Other Phone Issues

No Dial Tone

Possible Cause : Phone has no power, no network connection or is not registered to the PBX.

Possible Solutions : Refer to phone messages and check the display on the phone.

Handset Not Working

Possible Cause : Loose connection.

Possible Solutions : Check the cable between the handset and the phone to make sure it is securely connected.

Phone Does Not Ring

Possible Cause : Ringer volume turned down or off.

Possible Solutions : To adjust the ringer volume setting press the volume key when the phone is on-hook and idle.

Installation of Phones

Setting Ring Tone

You can select from a dozen different ring tones. The default is for an office environment and for a store installation you will want to change that to a more prominent ring. Use the menu button to select options, select ringer tone and then scroll down and each ringer tone will be played and you can select the one you want.

While the handset is on hook hit the volume button up or down until you have the volume you require

On Installation of IP Phones

When the IP phone is first connected it will update its firmware, load a configuration file and then ask the installer to enter an extension, Eg. 1001 and then ask for a password that we will provide. Shortly after the phone will be operational.

IP Phones

Ensure you use the Internet Ethernet port on the back of the phone and not the computer port

Security Router

Connect port two to the security router to a spare port on your Internet modem.
Ports 3,4 and 5 can be used to connect directly to devices or to a switch or POE switch

Power

You can use a POE (Power over Ethernet) switch to power the phones or individual power adaptors that need to ordered separately

Analog Phones

A phone adaptor is required if using analog phone, some functionality will be lost using analog phones

Ethernet Cabling

An Ethernet connection is required for all IP Phones
